Free sample question: Error Spotting
The following sentence has been divided into parts. One of them may contain an error. Select the part that contains the error from the given options. If you don't find any error, mark 'No error' as your answer.
One of my friends have gone to Pune for an interview.
Show answer and explanation
Answer: B
Option A: 'One of my friends' is correct; 'one of' is followed by a plural noun.
Option B: Correct. The subject is 'One', which is singular, so the verb must be 'has gone to Pune', not 'have gone'.
Option C: 'For an interview' is correct; 'an' is used before the vowel sound of 'interview'.
Option D: Part B contains an error, so 'No error' is wrong.
